A panel discussion is a conversation on a specific subject between an interviewer (usually the program host) and two or more interviewees. The interviewer helps the panelists make their statements clearly, and then helps create a discussion so that listeners can gain further insights into the subject, or about the panelists.

A vox pop is a collection of short interviews with members of the public, revealing their knowledge and opinion on a specific topic. The purpose of the vox pop is to show your listeners that there is a range of opinion in their community on a specific topic.

A call-in is a radio format that gives many listeners an opportunity to comment live on a topic of interest. A call-in can be one segment within a radio program, or it can be a radio program on its own. “Phone-in” is often used in place of “call-in.” The two terms mean the same thing.

You can grow your audience by creating promos and broadcasting them throughout your station’s weekly schedule. This will catch listeners who don’t yet listen to your program. And it will also remind your regular listeners to tune in to the next show. Once you attract listeners to your show, well-crafted intros and extros will help keep them there.
